Postpartum Red Tent Gathering
All participants are warmly welcomed back for a postpartum Red Tent Circle — a sacred space to share birth stories, be witnessed in the unfolding of new motherhood, and stay connected with the women who walked alongside you during pregnancy.
Together, we’ll honor what’s been, open to what is, and nourish the growing roots of community, support, and shared wisdom.
“ I have come away with a deeper sense of who I am, who I want to be, and practices that will help me get there. ”
“We learned, moved, and self-experimented in so many different ways — it was truly magical!”
Why This Matters
Pregnancy can be experienced as a sacred time of transformation within a person's life — one of growth and introspection — of reverence and anticipation — of connection and celebration. At times, however, that journey may also feel unmooring, as the pregnant person adapts to ever-evolving physical changes and navigates the complexity of feelings that accompany her imminent transition from Maidenhood into Motherhood.
Within this offering, we will honor ourselves and hold each other in sisterhood as we explore practices that help us attune to our inner-knowing.
We’ll move, flow, and go inward.
We’ll loosen the grip on our fears and limiting beliefs.
We’ll bear witness to each other in our vulnerability to illuminate our common threads.
We’ll celebrate the beauty, joy and wisdom of our parallel journeys within our community.
Our final week will anchor us in our power and reverence as we hold ceremony for this remarkable time.
Intentions of the Offering
Weave community by curating a safe and welcoming space for anyone who identifies as a pregnant person.
Empower each participant to cultivate a healthy relationship to one's body and honor and celebrate its innate wisdom.
Provide practical techniques that build embodied awareness so participants can adapt to the constant changes occurring within the physical body through one's pregnancy with asana and breathwork.
Facilitate relationship-building between each participant and their unborn child(ren) through myriad modalities.
Cultivate friendships and community that transcend the boundaries of the experience.
Arc of the Experience
Each week, we explore a theme oriented around the constellations of one’s pregnancy journey and associated with elements within the natural world — Grounding (Earth), Awakening the Wild One Within/Tending to our Inner-Flame (Fire), Facing our Fears (Air), Surrender and Self Compassion (Water), and Transformation (The Divine/The Above). While components within our gatherings will vary, each will align thematically and will incorporate movement, creative expression, and group-share practices.
Our final gathering will consist of a co-created ceremony, where each particpant will be witnessed as they cross their own threshold into Parenthood. Following ceremony, friends, family and partners are welcome to join the group for a celebratory potluck.
After birth, participants are invited back to share their birth stories and early motherhood reflections in a Red Tent Circle.
