About Me

My playful spirit and reverence for Mother Nature are the North Stars that guide my yoga teaching, personal practice, and creative pursuits. A nurturer at heart, I lead with passion and purpose, creating warm, welcoming spaces for all.

My path into perinatal work began during my own pregnancies. Pregnant with my son in the midst of the pandemic, I felt the sharp isolation and deep longing to connect with others navigating this profound threshold. I enrolled in prenatal yoga and doula trainings to learn the ins and outs of pregnancy and birth, and soon after participated in a life-changing, self-designed ceremony workshop with The Verdant Collective, led by Christiane Pelmas. In that space, I honored my grief, joy, excitement, and the great unknown ahead.

Forest’s birth in July 2021 in Colorado led to an unexpected emergency caesarean (he was posterior), which left me longing for answers and a community to process it all with. From that yearning, I curated my first signature offering: The Pregnancy Sisterhood Series.

Fast forward to May 2024, when I welcomed my daughter, Skylar, in Rochester. Denied a home birth due to my prior caesarean, I felt deeply grateful for the Midwifery Group at Strong. Her labor was entirely different — smooth, gradual — and culminated in a free-birth where I caught her in the car, the most empowering experience of my life.

These radically different experiences of birth and postpartum have emboldened me to orient my life in service to others during this incredibly important life transition — to uplift, to listen, to gather, and to show up.

My work is inspired by the seasons, by the resilience of the human spirit, and by the belief that we all belong here, just as we are. Whether I’m guiding wide-eyed children at a nature camp, facilitating a circle of mothers, or sharing the quiet power of breath, my goal is always to help people feel more rooted, alive, and connected — to themselves, to each other, and to the earth.

Should you come by for a visit, these days you will find me barefoot in the garden, chasing light through the trees with my children, or planning our next family adventure to the water’s edge.

Thank you for being a part of my journey.

With gratitude,

Lisa

Testimonials

  • "Wow. What an amazingly enriching experience that Lisa so carefully and intentionally curated for pregnant mamas. Lisa's facilitation and overall energy allowed me to feel connected with the other women in the group and feel safe in my emotions. I have ultimately come away with a deeper connection to my pregnancy, my body, and my baby. Most importantly, I have come away with a deeper sense of who I am, who I want to be, and practices that will help me get there. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in this experience."

She she held space for each participant to share their unique experience with pregnancy and allowed for deep connection within the group. We learned, moved, and self experimented in so many different ways - it was truly magical!"

  • "The Pregnancy Sisterhood experience was one I won't forget. As this is my first pregnancy, I have been fighting with a lot of unknowns. Lisa created a safe space for us to share what we were going through with our group. It was incredibly uplifting to have a space like this! We also got to meditate, move and create. All things that I didn't know I would need in my pregnancy but SO glad that I had it. I will be recommending this series to any friend who is pregnant and needs space. Whether that is space to reflect, breathe, talk, laugh, write, dance, eat or rest. Lisa will make space for you."
